ROH TV Review August 3, 2013 #WatchROH

I am going to do this a little differently. I won't do a weekly post stating the results of the ROH show. I will just write my reaction as I watch the show. I hope I enjoy doing this more and that this becomes more than whatever this is now.

The first match of the night was 3.0 vs Adrenalin Rush. I think the team "3.0" could be a team we see more of. They did kiss is other but they are Canadian so there is that. AR wins this match as expected. I think Tadarius is getting better and better in the ring. I love his kicks. Everyone likes ACH.

Nigel then comes out and makes his announcement of Jay Briscoe being stripped of his title because of his shoulder. There will be a tournament to find replacement, but the focus will be on the Tag Division. So ROH will bring in the best tag teams to compete. reDRagon comes to the ring at that comment. Bobby Fish rags on the crowd and then makes Nigel and offer. He wants their match against the Forever Hooligans to be a title match. Nigel says ok. The American Wolves come out because they feel they should be have a shot at the championships. They want next.

I think TV production has come such a long way. I had been stuck watching on my computer but today my DVR actually worked so this is great. They give out the details about why they had to strip Jay Brisco of the World Title and then give details about the tournament. I am excited about this tournament.

QT Marshall is out and upset he isn't in this match Adam Young vs Silas Young, the winner of this match gets into the World Title tournament. Qt is upset that he isn't in the tournament. Nigel agrees to put him in the tournament and now we have a three way. I am enjoying this match, Silas Young and that made me smile. QT is the goat once again.

Forever Hooligans vs reDRagon is the main event. I am excited about this match as I know it will be good.I didn't even type during this match. This is what tag team wrestling, well what wrestling is all about. The Forever Hooligans win and are the new champs. They now have two championships. What a show this was. this is a must see episode.

Things are changing #WatchROH (Spoilers)

First, no more iPPV's, then this. I don't do spoilers, but this is one.

I am not sure where all of this is headed, but his definitely are changing. I have not seen the episodes as I was too poor to afford to go to both shows. But this is interesting to say the least. Not sure where this is headed, but I am pulling for my guy Jay Lethal. I will just keep my eyes on this and see where it goes. I am just hoping the rumors of the Briscoes leaving are wrong. If not I hope the make millions and millions somewhere and get super famous.

GRUDGE MATCH

BJ Whitmer vs "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis

I don't really recall the grudge these two have. I guess they had a match but there wasn't any real build up to this match. That doesn't mean it will be bad though. I like BJ's toughness, and Mike Bennett is a good wrestler as well. Now that I think about it. didn't BJ Kiss Maria?

TAG TEAM ATTRACTION

The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) vs Adrenalin RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas)

This is going to be a great match. Every one knows that I love tag team matches. i am a fan of both teams and have reason to want both to win. Not sure how I will feel on Saturday. Davey may turn on the crowd if they are behind ACH too much. This is a must see match.

SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH

"Unbreakable" Michael Elgin vs "Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa

Another match that I can't wait for. I am a huge Ciampa fan so I am pulling for him. I like Elgin also, and he is a beast. I hope this match lives up to my expectations. Not sure if the two will have ring chemistry, but if they do look out.

RETURN MATCH FROM HONOR IN THE HEART OF TEXAS

Roderick Strong vs Adam Cole

Strong has done everything there is to do in ROH. Won every title. and has been in some of the best matches in ROH history. So I guess he is the gatekeeper of sorts. Adam Cole is the young wrestler with tons of potential, that possibly has a world title reign in his future. I look for Cole to win the match and show his darker side. We shall see.

GRUDGE MATCH

"Mr Wrestling" Kevin Steen vs Matt Hardy

I like Matt Hardy's Character in ROH. I just don't believe he can beat Kevin Steen in a grudge match. But, (and there is a but) Hardy has S.C.U.M. on his side. So I have to say I think Matt Hardy wins. Wow now I have heart burn.

ROH WORLD TV CHAMPIONSHIP

ROH World TV Champion Matt Taven w/ Truth Martini vs Jimmy Jacobs vs. Jay Lethal

I don't like three way title matches. I like three way challenges to be number one contender. I am not sure how I fell about this match. Lethal is one of my guys but his won't be his match. I think this will be Jimmy Jacobs match. He could be a TV Champion for a while.

ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) vs S.C.U.M (Rhett Titus & Cliff Compton) vs Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander

I still don't like three way matches for titles, but I hope these matches show me something. I like C & C and reDRagon. So we will be in for a big match. I am not sure what to expect with S.C.U.M. being involved in this and the previous match. I am just going to have to see what happens.

**MAIN EVENT - ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP**

Jay Briscoe vs Mark Briscoe

Jay is going to win, but this is going to be one heck of a match. I have seen two of the matches these two have had. I can only imagine how this macth will be as their skills have grown since then. They promised never to fight again, but here it is. In Baltimore, not far from Sandy Fork, DE. This will be a great Main Event. I can't wait.

Ring of Honor 6/15/13:Weekly Show Recap #WatchROH

Steve Corino welcomes us to a road rage edition of ROH. They are coming from Richmond Va. He cuts a promo for S.C.U.M. This might just be some fun

Caprice Coleman, Cedric Alexander, and Jay Lethal vs reDRagon and Matt Taven

• They come into the match with action well under way. The crowd is hot and there is so much action.
• Joe Nebrowski (I think) Is doing color.

Winners: C&C and Jay Lethal

They next show a BJ Whitmer promo as he challenges Jay Briscoe for the World Title Tonight. Then Corino comes back on and cuts another S.C.U.M. Promo. He plans to win the TV title and Tag title at Best in the World. Then on the TV tapings S.C.U.M. will take on ROH and if they win, Corino will be in control.

Kevin Steen vs Jimmy Jacobs

• Joe says this is no holds barred and Steen and Jacobs are brawling.
• Jacobs has a chain and he is chocking Steen. Turner calls for the bell.
• Steen says he wants this to be no holds barred and wants the match restarted.
• Now Steen is fighting through all of S.C.U.M. as they go to break.
• Jacobs is now chocking Steen out with a chain.
• Wow great match again tonight.

BJ Whitmer vs Jay Briscoe

• I like Joe better than Kevin Kelly. But I won't talk about that right now. Not the time.
• If Road Rages will be like this, I am for it. This Richmond crowd is hot.
• Love seeing that Curly W in the crowd!
• This is a great match, this was a really good go home show for Best in the World

The Show ends with the promos for the Best in the World iPPV. I will be ther in person. If only I was working I would go Sunday as well.

Ring of Honor 6/08/13:Weekly Show Recap #WatchROH

Truth Martini comes out with 2 Hoopla Hotties, he is followed by Matt Taven. Martini says Lethal won't be able to beat Taven for the TV Championship at Best in the World. He then issues an Open Challenge, Proving Ground match. Pepper Parks comes out and the crowd chants for Pepper.

Matt Taven vs Pepper Parks

• Matt wants to prove he is a fighting champion.
• Pepper is a veteran has been wrestling for over ten years.
• They announce Elgin vs Ciampa at Best in the World.
• Taven has a great DDT type finisher.

Rip Impact vs Tommaso Ciampa

• Tommaso Ciampa is one of my favorite wrestlers, I am glad he is back.
• He does look rusty, but he has been out for a long time.
• They way he uses those knees is lethal. 
• Impact is able to get a few counters or moves in but come on. no match.
• Elgin comes out during the match, after Ciampa holds Impact up for a long count suplex.

Winner Tommaso Ciampa After the match Elgin gets in the ring and says he will see Ciampa at Best in the World.

Steve Corino comes out to the ring. with S.C.U.M.

• Nigel has made 3 mistakes according to Corino.
• He can forgive not giving Matt hardy the title shot at Best in the World but not freezing them out of the other titles.
• Nigel gets C&C and Jay Lethal to come down to the ring.
• Corino wants his guys included in the tag and TV title match at Best in the World.

American Wolves vs Briscoe Brothers

• This is a top level match up here. Great main event.
• I promise I won't say anything about Kevin Kelly.
• Next weeks episode comes from Richmond Va.

• Michael Elgin comes to the ring and Nigel is in the ring.

• Nigel says London still have a lot more to give wrestling.

• RD Evans and QT Marshall comes out and interrupts London before he can talk.
• Evans is upset that reDRagon didn't defend their title and they should be stripped.
• Tommaso Ciampa comes out and destroys QT and RD and then he gets in Elgins face. That would be an awesome match.

• Maria is doing commentary with the team and Corino is flirting with her.
• Lethal still has a hurt knee.
• Who ever wins this match gets a TV Title match.

• Mark is tearing Colin apart.
• Colid does get a few kicks and thing in but there wan't ever any doubt.

• Now the Briscoes and fighting the wolves and this has broken down. Elgin comes out he is the number one contender and he didn't get a title match

Veda interviews herself

• Veda will not be intimidated by MsChif.
• She wants to fight MsChif and wants Nigel to make the match.

Women of Honor

Cherry Bomb vs MsChif

• This is s slow paced match, but I like Cherry Bomb.
• Not that she is putting up much of a fight. She did at first but that didn't last.
• Veda comes out and distracts MsChif. Cherry takes advantage.

• This is a good match. I like Ishimori. Still pulling for Strong though.
• I miss Nigel on color. I really do.
• I lied this is a great match a must see.

The show starts with a recap of Border Wars. S.C.U.M won their match and now Steve Corino will be the color commentary man next to Kevin Kelly.

Jimmy Jacobs vs Jay Lethal

• Lethal is favoring his leg coming into this match. He hurt it at border Wars and he shouldn't even be wrestling.
• Jimmy attacks the hurt leg before the match and now Lethal is really in trouble.
• Lethal puts up a good fight but hurt, he is never able to really take control of this match.

Now Jay Briscoe and runs his mouth about how can't be beat by anyone in ROH. Mark Briscoe takes offense to this and gets in Jay's face. Nigel makes it Mark vs Jay at Best in the World. (I will be there.) 

C&C Wrestle Factory vs Rhett Titus and Cliff Compton (S.C.U.M.)

• Caprice Coleman still has a hurt shoulder from Border Wars. 
• Kevin Kelly really gets on my nerves. 
• Cliff destroys Coleman's shoulder and the refs come to check on him.
• Refs are taking Caprice away.
• Keven is being out shined by Corino and I fear ROH need a less corny  and smarter play by play man.
• Caprice refuses to leave and gets back in the match.
• Wow Rhett gets the pin

Winners S.C.U.M.

Adam Cole vs Kevin Steen

• Corino keeps dropping hints that Cole is friendly with S.C.U.M. His attitude has changed lately.
• Cole takes advantage of Steen being distracted by Steen and the tide changes.
• Now interference by Compton and Jacobs leads to Steen being hit with a chain.
• Cole saw the interference but didn't care and took the win.

• I review these matches in the review I did with Border Wars review.
• I am not sure how Kevin Kelly thinks Strong and Bennett are similar. To me they aren't at all.
• It is funny Maria couldn't fight off Cheeseburger.

• Nigel gets referees to kick Corino out from ringside.
• Titus gets zip ties and is set to tie BJ up.
• BJ gets control of the ties and then ties Rhett up.

Ring of Honor 5/04/13:Weekly Show Recap

Nana is Ringside doing commentary.

Karl Anderson vs Michael Elgin

• This crowd is behind anderson hard. Great show of respect. He gained a lot of fans in this and his ROH debut on iPPV.
• Elgin likes to show he is a beast and does in this match. He did try to show his power here but Anderson fights out.

Nana  is show some good potential doing color, but Kelly doesn't seem to get his humor. It would take some time for their chemistry to build i guess.

Daviene vs MsChif

• Daviene is a new WOH (Woman of Honor) Tough first opponent.
• Veda attacks MsChif in the beginning of the match. She wants revenge for the green mist MsChif spit in her eye during an interview attempt.
• Veda is like a pitbull, She wants a piece of MsChif.

No Contest

Before the main event Nana takes a call and starts singing "I'm in the money" and leaves Kevin to do commentary by himself.

Davey vs Kyle O'Reilly

• Bobby Fish is doing color now.
• Fish does a great job, I like him on the mic.
• Davey hurts his knee midway through the match and it really adds to the story of the match.

• The crowd is very hot for both teams at the start.
• ACH does a great job of being unique.
• Toronto seems to really like ACH.

Mike Bennett W/ Maria vs Roderick Strong

• Mike Mondo had a training injury so this will only be a 1 on 1 match.
• Mike Bennett has a new haircut.
• Strong is way too friendly with the crowd during this match he needs to focus.
• Bennett tapped but the ref was distracted.
• Bennett almost gets the win because of it.
• Cheeseburger comes out and plants one on Maria.
• Strong takes advantage

I Quit Match

BJ Whitmer vs Rhett Titus

• Corino vows that Whitmer will quit and then later tonight SCUM deal with ROH.
• Corino is getting involved early but nigel went to do something about it.
• Corino gets kicked out. Crowd chants "Get the fuck out!"
• Titus has some zip ties.
• Titus wants to tie BJ up and leave him helpless.
• Titus gets caught in the ties and this is bad for him.
• Rhett shits in BJ's face
• Out comes Corino and he puts himself in the way.
• Rhett quits instead.

Winner BJ Whitmer 

After the match S.C.U.M comes out and attacks BJ. Lethal and Elgin run out for the save.

ROH vs S.C.U.M.

• BJ is still tied to the ropes.
• Lethal and Elgin vs Cliff Compton and Jimmy Jacobs
• This match is awesome from the start.
• Elgin is a monster, a pure beast. He held Jacobs on a suplex for over 40 seconds.
• He holds Cliff Compton up for an equally impressive time wow.
• Lethal is hurt. He is down.
• Elgin has to continue on his own after a break in the action.
• Elgin is in trouble and the numbers have caught up to him.
• If anyone can beat two men it is Elgin. 
• Steen comes out to be Elgin's partner.
• Steen is tear up S.C.U.M.
• Somehow Jimmy sneaks in behind Steen and steals a win.

Nice intermission, they show two past ROH Matches. I can appreciate that.

QT Marshall W/ RD Evans 

• Look at Evans mustache.
• Evans said reDRagon should be stripped of the championship.
• Ciampa!!!

Tommaso Ciampa vs QT Marshall

• I was hoping for this so much!!!
• It wasn't a match, He just gave us the moment of the night so far.
• Now Corino comes out to gloat and say he has something big planned.

Eddie Edwards vs Taiji Ishimori 

• Ishimori is really put together.
• I am enjoying watching Taiji. He is really good.
• This is a great match as you would expect. 
• I haven't seen the Die Hard Driver in a long time.

Winner Eddie Edwards Great match I will be watching that one a few more times for sure.

Matt Taven W/ Truth Martini and Hoopla Hotties vs Mark Briscoe

• Mark is taking Matt to school.
• Mark can be quite vicious.
• Martini gets involved and matt is in control.
• After a nice match that Mark should have one. There is a lot of Hoopla.

Paul London vs Davey Richards

• London gets a good welcome from the crowd. This should be a good match.
• Davey is waiting in the ring while Paul goes around the ring and tags fans, for a long time.
• Davey seems irritated to have to wait.
• London is showing up Davey Richards.
• London is outsmarting davey and getting him off his game. The Toronto crowd is behind London.
• Davey loves being a heel.
• London is hurt. Davey is evil right now.

Winner Davey Richards Davey gives London his props. Admits he is an asshole. And he tells the fans to cheer for Paul London. Paul replies he is proud of Davey.

ROH World Championship

Adam Cole vs Jay Briscoe

• This title defense is huge for Briscoe. He needs to win this match.
• Cole isn't fighting quite clean now Jay isn't either.
• Cole is not targeting Briscoe's knee. Cole hit a drop lick off the top row to it.
• Cole puts Briscoe in the figure four on the ring post.
• Now Briscoe has a bad shoulder and knee.
• Corino come out to offer Cole to be in SCUM
• Nigel gives Corino Tower of London.
• Briscoe gets the win.

Winner Jay Briscoe  Cole shakes Jays hand after the match but goes to attack him when he turns around. Cole just might go with SCUM.

Border Wars 2013 Preview

C&C Wrestling factory vs ACH and Tadarius Thomas

This will most likely be the first match of the night. It will have plenty of action and will be a good match. There has not been much, or any build up for this match. But, anyone who is familiar with these two team know that it will be a good match. 

Prediction: C&C get the win. They have experience and they should be coming up on a strong run soon. 

ROH vs S.C.U.M.

Michael Elgin and Jay Lethal will take on two members of S.C.U.M. that Steve Corino will pick. If ROH wins Corino will leave wrestling forever. If S.C.U.M. wins, corino will get to be the new permanent color man on the announce team, and a member of S.C.U.M. will get a shot at the ROH World Championship. 

Prediction: S.C.U.M. wins. ROH needs a color man badly. I think the story of S.C.U.M. isn't over yet. 

"I Quit Match"

Rhett Titus vs BJ Whitmer

BJ was once a mentor to Titus. Then they became a friends. Then they became tag team partners. rhett titus threw that all ayaw when he turned on BJ and joined S.C.U.M. I can't blame Rhett though. His career needed a change and now he has a chance at a new start. I think he will regret accepting an "I Quit Match" vs Whitmer. 

Prediction: BJ Wins. I don't see him quitting. That's it.

ROH World TV Championship

Matt Taven w/ Truth Martini vs Mark Briscoe

There are multiple reasons why this SHOULD be a good match. I just hope outside distractions don't take away from the match. as we saw on the last PPV, Martini can cause quite a distraction outside the ring. Him and his Hoopla Hotties can distract anyone. The thing is, Mark Briscoe is more than good enough to be the TV champion. 

Prediction: Mark Briscoe is the new ROH TV Champion after a great match.

Paul London vs Davey Richards

I have watched a few Paul London matches since he was added to the card and am hopeful of a good match. I am a Davey Richards fan and I will be hoping he pulls out a victory. This should be a good match though.

Prediction: Davey Richards wins

Taiji Ishimori vs Eddie Edwards

I am not as familiar with Ishimori as I do not watch much Japanese Wrestling. What I hear about him leads me to believe this will be a good match. Eddie may work a slightly different style so I will want to see if he does. I just hope he can protect his home turf.

Prediction: Eddie Edwards.

ROH World Championship

Adam Cole vs Jay Briscoe

It isn't fair. I have gotten so used to the Kevin Steen struggle, I am not used to a main event without him in it. I guess it it more that there wasn't that much build up to this match. Don't let that deter you though. This match could easily be a classic. With how the last episode of ROH TV went, I could possibly see a Adam Cole heel turn. It has been said that he is a better heel than face. Whatever happens, I doubt ROH will fail to put on a great show. They have been on a roll lately, I don't expect that to change. 

Prediction: Jay Briscoe wins for sure. Both Briscoes have been pillars in this company. Jay deserves a longer run than one month.  

Ring of Honor 4/27/13: Weekly Show Recap

The show starts with a recap of last week, when Corino tried to console Steen. It didn't turn out the way he wanted, so he had to kick Steen out of S.C.U.M. instead.

S.C.U.M. vs ROH

• Team S.C.U.M. has Jimmy Jacobs, Rhett Titus, and Cliff Compton.
• Team ROH has BJ Whitmer, Caprice Coleman, and Cedric Alexander.
• Corino is doing color commentary.
• This match has started off slow. I would expect more from these participants.
• Rhett gets a hunk of chain from Corino and uses it on BJ

Winner S.C.U.M. After the match C.C.U.M. continue to attack C&C and Whitmer until Lethal and Elgin come out for the save.

Jay Lethal vs Rhett Titus

• Even though Titus just fought, he is now facing Lethal. 
• Poor Kevin Kelly is by himself again. 
• No matter where it happens, the crowd always seems to be hot for Lethal.
• It is so disrespectful to the wrestlers, and to the fans watching on tv, for fans in attendance to ignore a match and chant just to hear themselves. 

Winner Jay Lethal Lethal tell the crowd this is just the beginning of the end for S.C.U.M. He promises he will end S.C.U.M.

ROH World Championship Match Contract 

• Both Jay Bricsoe and Adam Cole sign the contract and then shake hands.
• Then out comes Corino he has Matt Hardy and Rhyno with him.
• He hates the idea of the Border Wars iPPV being the main evented by these two. He wants Rhyno and Hardy in the match.
• Nigel say they can have that match... right now.

Rhyno and Matt Hardy vs Adam Cole and Jay Briscoe

• Prince NaNa will be doing color commentary the whole show next week. There is no way I will miss that. You should be sure to check it out also even though it is Border Wars weekend. Prince NaNa!
• This is a good match with great storytelling  I won't spoil it. But it seems Cole and Briscoe don't get along too well

Ring of Honor 4/20/13: Weekly Show Recap

Kevin Steen addresses ROH

• There is a thank you Kevin chant.
•  Steve Corino comes out before Steen speaks. says Kevin won't respond to calls or text.
• Steen thinks ROH doesn't need to be destroyed. He only want to get the ROH title.
• S.C.U.M. surrounds the ring. Steen says he would follow Corino anywhere, but the one part of the plan he can't accept in Matt Hardy.
• S.C.U.M. beat on Kevin and he is out of the group.
• Corino calls Hardy "Jesus" and tells him to finish Steen off. S.C.U.M. has just made a terrible enemy.

Roderick Strong vs Matt Bennett w/ Brutal Bob

• Mondo is doing commentary ringside.
• Mondo keeps getting targeted my Bennett during the match and then gets hit with a spear.
• This match really gets good in the middle and Mondo may be ticked off and want revenge.

Winner Roderick Strong: Mondo attacks both men after the match.

Jorge Santi vs Tadarius Thomas

• Jorge is making his ROH tv debut.
• These guys have similar styles and there is a lot of swings and misses. Both men have escapability.
• S.C.U.M. run in and gets this match thrown out. They beat down both participants.

No Contest.: The mission will always remain the same. Suffering, chaos, ugliness, and mayhem will destroy ROH.

• This to me should be a main event match.
• Those Eddie chops are brutal.
• "We Want Chops" chants the crowd. 
• These two are a tag team in Japan.
• I am really enjoying this match even on my third time watching it.

• Evans is funny, you can see QT is ticked at this being his partner.
• Perfect tag team? I am not sure about that.

Adam Page and Mike Sydal vs ACH and Tadarius Thomas

• I am impressed with Adam and Mike, Sydal is better than I gave him credit for.
• I like ACH's cradle DDT, it is a very nice finisher.

Mschif is getting interviews before her match. In comes Truth Martini with a Hoopla Hottie. He invites Mschif to be a Hoopla Hottie but she declines. The Hottie with Martini says that is good cuz Mschif isn't hot enough anyway. The truth tells her she is the mystery opponent in the $ way Women of Honor match coming up. The poor girl starts to cry to with Truth tastes her tears and say "Nothing turns me on like the tears of a woman". I am like What?!?!

Scarlett Bordeaux vs Cherry Bomb vs Athena vs MsChif

• It seems Scarlett is a "student" of Truth Martini. she doesn't seem to be too interested in entering the match.
• Athena is my favorite, after Mia Yim. I would love to see that match.

I didn't expect this I am excited. Now Veda wants to ask MsChif how it feels to not be undefeated anymore. MsChif doesn't take kindly to her questions and Spits green mist in Veda's eye like Great Muta. I knew MsChif has to be a heel! Poor Veda.

Pepper Parks vs Roderick Strong

• Parks has some history in ROH, something to do with pigtails. I don't know.
• These two are putting on a fun match. Parts is pretty good.
• I wouldn't mind seeing Parks more. Good match

• The American Wolves are ringside doing commentary.
• This is a huge match up. This match should be awesome.
• This show is worth it just so you can see the Forever Hooligans.

SuperCard of Honor VII Review

Supercard of Honor was every bit as good as I thought it would be. Not only was it the best, or maybe one of the best shows of the weekend, it was totally better than WrestleMania as I predicted. I hope you didn't miss it or let some technical difficulties take away from a great show.

ACH & Tadarius Thomas def. QT Marshall & RD Evans 

This was a great opening match. RD Evans was the mystery partner. ACH and Tadarius have a bright future. But ACH is getting a lot of love from the ROH fans. I expect big things from these two in the future. I love how ROH keeps their tag division stocked up.

Mike Bennett def. Shelton Benjamin 

While it would have been great for WGTT to collide, this was a good alternative. I missed seeing Bennett (well Maria). He was about to make an announcement as to what company he would be signing with. He is a free agent and WWE, TNA and ROH want his services. I hope he makes the right choice. It would also be nice if Shelton is full time ROH. I feel he could have a really nice singles career in ROH. It will also make him practice being on the Mic more.  

Michael Elgin def. Jay Lethal 

This was my early pick for match of the night, and it did not disappoint. Everyone know I am a Lethal guy, but even though I was disappointed with the result, I can't find fault in it. Elgin is a beast and He does deserve another chance at the most prized possession. This could have easily been a main event. This match is worth the price of admission alone. 

SCUM def. Team ROH 

This was a nice, chaotic match. Caleb goes at Corino hard on commentary. This must have ticked him off pretty bad. During the match Corino attacked Caleb and he would not be available for the rest of the PPV. Caleb took a hard bump and it lead to Nigel doing commentary with Kevin. That was a great move. The Main event really benefited from this. 

Karl Anderson def. Roderick Strong 

This was the first match of the second half. I fully expected Strong to win, but I expected wrong. I enjoyed this match as well. Hopefully The Machine Gun comes back to ROH soon. I am happy the ROH has been bringing in talent that most Americans don't get a chance to see. 

TV Title: Matt Taven def. Adam Cole & Matt Hardy 

Matt Hardy get a special intro from Corino. Matt Taven does seem to have a lot of charisma. I didn't think Cole would win the belt as I think he need to move toward the next stage of his ROH Career. I would like for him to be a World Champion before that chance is missed. 

Tag Titles: reDRagon def. American Wolves 

I enjoyed this match far more than I thought I would. Not that I thought I wouldn't enjoy it but it was awesome. I liked this more than Elgin vs Lethal and I loved that match. This feud is far from over in my opinion. Man I think reDRagon is going to be a great team for a long time. They will be major players. 

World Title: Jay Briscoe def. Steen 

I still have not seen the finish and I have tried multiple times. That still doesn't take away from my excitement for Jay. I wish they let us see the celebrate to their old music. But copyright fees are expensive. The crowd was hot, the ROH roster surrounding the ring made it feel urgent. I didn't think Jay would win. I hoped he would and I just wish the technical problems didn't tarnish what was a great show overall.

This was a great card. If you missed it, "Sorry about your damn luck". Ring of Honor is on a roll. I can't wait to see how the TV taping set up BorderWars.

ROH World Championship

Any long time Ring of Honor fan knows Jay Briscoe has been with ROH since day one.  He has climbed up the ladder and proven to be one of the main guys on the roster. His Tag Team is the most successful one in the history of the promotion. You better believe Jay is not happy Steen came in after him and won the title before him. If you add to the fact that Steen was at one point leading the charge to destroy ROH. While he appears to be softening on that issue he is still a member of S.C.U.M. If you have never watched Ring of Honor and want a good show, this main event will show you what they are all about. I expect this to be a great match. Other than Undertaker vs Punk, this may be the best match of the Weekend.

ROH World Tag Team Championship

The whole reason for reDRagon being in existence, is to destroy Davey Richards. That is not to say reDRagon is a throw away tag team. since the formation of their group, they have put the whole division on notice. They are the tag champions. The American Wolves are one of the premier tag teams in ROH and seemed to be set to win the title in a tournament a few months back. Well S.C.U.M. was involved and things didn't work out. This is the Wolves chance to be back on top of the hill. If reDRagon can stop them, they will both gain respect and maybe lead to the end of their enemy, Davey Richards.

3 Way ROH World TV Championship

Matt Taven shocked Adam Cole, Matt Hardy, and all of ROH when he beat Cole for the TV Championship. The influence of Truth Martini on Taven is unmistakable. Not only with his recent career upswing, but with the way his personality seems to have changed. Maybe he was always this way and I didn't notice. One thing I know for sure, Matt Hardy really wants the TV title. He has won a championship every place he has been, and now that he is a major member of S.C.U.M. he will want some gold of his own. As for Adam Cole, you can't count him out either. He has future main event potential and I can see him winning the Championship back.

#1 Contenders Match

Jay Lethal came so close to defeating Steen. Maybe if S.C.U.M. hadn't gotten involved, he could have gotten the job done. That that is over. Lethal has to fight Elgin and the winner is the number 1 contender. Both men have tried in the past to dethrone Steen and failed. This is going to be one heck of a match. Lethal has an amazing winning percentage and Elgin appears to be just now coming into his prime and his upside is limitless. In my opinion, this match could steal the show. I am a huge Lethal fan, but Elgin is one of my guys also. I am torn, but this will be a top notch bout. 

Special Challenge Match

Roderick Strong is on the outside looking in. He feels he should be in the title picture. The fact is he isn't. This is SuperCard of Honor VII, so why not bring in a top notch opponent from overseas. That leads us to "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson. He has made quite the name for himself in NJPW. I am very interested in seeing this match. Wath the video to get familiar with the Machine Gun.

Honor vs S.C.U.M. 10 Man War

BJ Whitmer, Mark Briscoe, Mike Mondo, Caprice Coleman, and Cedric Alexander form Team ROH. Jimmy Jacobs, Cliff Compton, Rhett Titus, Jimmy Rave, and Rhino form Team SCUM. This match is simple. ROH has been embarrassed by S.C.U.M. a lot in recent months. ROH needs to answer the call. A war can't be all one sided.

ACH and Tadarius  are a new tag team. They were both in the recent prospect tournament. While they have different styles they are starting to form chemistry. These two will have to fight QT Marshall and a mystery partner.

• Jay Briscoe comes out before Steen has a chance to speak.
• Steen wants to kill ROH, which is how Jay feeds his family. He isn't going to stand for that.
• Before Steen replies, Corino comes out and to tell Jay he shouldn't even be out here.
• Steen says he is proud to be ROH Champion, but he will be even prouder when he beats both Briscoe boys.
• Corino keeps yapping, not realizing Steen is leaving. But S.C.U.M. members run in to save him from Jay Lethal.

C&C Wrestling Factory vs S.C.U.M.(Rhett Titus and Cliff Compton)

• They wait until now to tell us the back story between Rhett and BJ Whitmer. It turns out that years ago Rhett thought his career was over and gave his boots to BJ. I guess he has been a mentor to him since. They might have said this before but I don't remember it. Their tag team made a lot more since than I knew.
• Lots of S.C.U.M. interference in this one.

• I like Mondo in the ring. It is good to see him back. I hope the time off has led to some character development.
• Mondo still is creative. I like how he does different things and ring psychology.
• If you know these two wrestlers you knew this would be a good match.

• This really should be obvious.

After the match, Mondo runs out for the save as Haas is bullying Redwood after the match. I can see these two as a tag team. The two toughest little men on the roster. 

Mondo Interview

• Veda is in the ring with Veda and Redwood. He is back after rehabbing he injury.
• Oh no here comes S.C.U.M., the destroy Mondo and Grizzly. Then Cliff Compton grabs Veda. They are holding her hostage and until Nigel meets their demands.
• Next week will be all ROH vs S.C.U.M.

Nigel Comes out to Address situation

• It will be ROH vs S.C.U.M. all next week
• Steve Corino comes out to the ring and has something to say.
• He gives quite the entrance to Matt Hardy.

Matt Hardy w Steve Corino vs Adam Cole

• Don't expect to see a technical match between these two at this point in their feud. There is a lot of animosity between these two. 
• Corino plays the roll of a manager very well.
• I would say this is a good Matt Hardy match. While it is paced slower, there is  so much to enjoy in this.
• Rhyno comes out of the crowd to gores Adam Cole. S.C.U.M. comes out and this match is a DQ. Then the ROH wrestlers come out and a brawl ends the  show.

I assume Adam Cole wins via DQ. 

Roderick Strong vs Karl Anderson Supercard of Honor VII

Here is a match were  has a chance to fight Kazuchika Okada  for a contract to challenge someone for a match at the Tokyo dome. While he wasn't successful in this match, I find that it is good to find out what a wrestler has been doing in the ring. 

This is a pretty recent match as it was in 2012. Kazuchika Okada was just too much for him. How will he do against Strong? As of a few years ago he didn't think he should take a back seat to anyone. Not even Brian Danielson.

Now it has just been announced that he will face Roderick Strong at Supercard of Honor VII. Will this Andreson come up short again? Or will he live up to the Anderson heritage.

Nigel Addresses S.C.U.M.

• S.C.U.M. won the first battle Nigel vows that ROH will fight the war.
• ROH still has credible contenders, and honor will never die.
• Adam Cole will get a ROH title shot. He will not fight Hardy tonight, as S.C.U.M. is barred from the Arena. Next week they will fight and the winner gets a TV title match at Supercard of Honor. So Cole could have a TV and a World Title Match soon.
• BJ Whitmer will get a title shot.
• Elgin and Lethal will fight at Supercard of Honor. The winner will get a ROH title shot.
• Roderick wants his name thrown in but Nigel will talk to him later.
• Mark Briscoe will get a ROH Title shot March 30.

• S.C.U.M. will be in the arena next week. ROH will be ready.

• Haas unleashes a series of knees to Haas' head and he wins.

Forever Hooligans vs American Wolves

• Alex Kozlov calls for the mic before the match and sings the National Russian anthem.
• This might be my favorite match of the night. 
• "Russian Leg Sweep."Caleb says. To which Kevin replied, "It's just a leg sweep for him."
• This has to be a tag match of the year candidate.

Winners the American Wolves I am hoping to see the forever Hooligans in ROH much more often. Rocky chants ROH Forever as he leaves the ring. I can dream.

• Coming into this match, I expected this to be a classic. While it doesn't measure up to those high expectations  it was a great match. I think the first fall came to early and that took a little away for me. 
• That being said these two work well together in the ring. 
• I am a huge Elgin fan but Strong is just awesome in the ring.

• Matt Hardy is ringside doing commentary. He will face Adam Cole after this. He want to win the tv title.
• Martini is in underwear. HOT has new music also.
• This is a great match, as you should expect.

Winner Matt Taven. Upset of the night. Everyone was in shock. from the crowd to Hardy and Selser. No one saw this coming. now Taven is the new World Television Champion. I don't know what he called his finisher but it is a nice one. He ask Matt Hardy "Who are you?"

redDRagon vs The Briscoes

• Nigel comes out during the match. Matt Hardy is pissed he won't get a title shot the next night. But whoever wins will get a title shot.
• The action in this one is great also. The Briscoes are always good. redDRagon is really showing me something though.
• Mark is a joy to watch in the ring.

Winner redDRagon This is an upset but not as big as the TV title was. This is a great tag match.

ROH World Championship

Jay Lethal Vs Kevin Steen

• Lethal refuses to observe the code of honor before the match
• I don't like all the talking Steen and Corino do about Lethal's mother.
• During the match Corino and Jacobs come out work Jay over while the ref is hurt.
• Nigel comes out and chases Corino off
• Lethal almost gets a 3 count on Steen, but the ref does a slow count from being hurt earlier.

After the match Rhyno comes out and gores Lethal. Then the Briscoes come out to help. But S.C.U.M. Have the numbers. Out come Jimmy Rave he is S.C.U.M. BJ and Rhett come out to help ROH only Rhett has turned his back on honor as well. Elgin comes out to support ROH only to be answered by Cliff Compton who runs in from the crowd and is S.C.U.M. as well. Steen looks to be in shock. When Adam Cole comes out to help Matt Hardy follows and gives him a twist of fate. Hardy is also S.C.U.M. Steve Corino then comes out to say evil is here. Honor is dead. 

Ring of Honor 3/3/2013: Weekly Show Recap

This episode starts with A recap of Matt Hardy beating BJ Whitmer via Rhett Titus throwing in the towel. If you watch the 11th Anniversary show you know why that is important. I will have a post on that soon, don't worry. After that, they show how the animosity between the Matt and Adam Cole has grown. Matt stole Adams TV Title which Nigel will address later. Adam Cole wants his opportunity to make Matt relevant again. By ripping him limb from limb.

The Flatliners vs S.C.U.M. (Steve Corino and Rhyno)

• I won't even discuss the tale of the tape where the grafics don't match what Kevin Kelly is saying. I woun't say it says the Flatliners have 6 years experience together and Steve and Rhyno have none. Kevin says "But they are giving up a ton of experience to Steve and Rhyno". But i am not talking about that.
• Decent tag match, slow paced but ok. Nothing bad to say about it though.

• Matt comes out with the TV title like he is the champ. 
• Nigel will give Matt a ono on one match with Adam Cole in two weeks.
• He has to earn the title defense part though as he has to fight in a four corner survival match.

• Mike Mondo is doing guess commentary and cheering on Grizzly.
• I could see Grizzly and Mondo as a tag team.
• Kevin Steen comes out and gets Vinny out of the ring. He wants to fight Grizzly!

• These two are putting on a good match. Should be a squash match but oddly it isn't, and i like it.
• Grizzly was trained by CM Punk and Austin Aries. I didn't know that.

• Kevin tells us how Haas and Benjamin are good freinds. 
• Haas finds Cheeseburger ringside during the match and attacks him. Brendel is hurt.
• This is a great match is seems fresh again.
• Out of nowhere, Hass turns on Benjamin as they are close to getting a win.

Tommaso Ciampa Will Be Back Soon.

The Sicilian Psychopath is on his way back. Boy did I forget about Lethal's low blow to win the third fall in that match. A lot has to be said about fighting through a torn ACL to finish that match. Not to mention him getting the second fall. Tommaso was the fastest rising star in ROH in my opinion. I can see him feuding with Lethal as that never ended and he obviously remembers. Will we see Ciampa hopefully with Prince NaNa at the 11th Anniversary show? I sure do hope so.

Ring of Honor 2/23/2013: Weekly Show Recap

Steen comes out first to make a few points. He hated Ring of Honor with Jim Cornette in control. He hated what ROH had become. Now that Jim is gone, he is proud to be ROH Champion. He is giving Lethal a shot not because he beat good wrestlers but because he got rid of Jim Cornette. Steen says he will still do anyyhing to keep the title. The truth is He feels Lethal can't beat him.

Top Prospect Tournament Final Round

Tadarius Thomas and Matt Taven both cut promos before this match. The promos are intertwined and we get a small taste of who these two guys are. Both guys could use a boost in stature in their young ROH careers. So here we go the final round in the prospect tournament.

Tadarius Thomas vs Matt Taven

• No Truth Martini  for this one. He is not doing Color commentary.
• I hate how they do the tale of the tape. Kelly always talks about who "Obviously" had an experience advantage. I call BS. Age is not Experience. Edit the graffic if that is important.
• The winner of this match gets a Television Championship match at 11th Anniversary.
• Martini makes his way ringside during the match. 
• Truth tries several times to help Thomas, but Tadarius wants no part of it.
• Because of this Taven is able to pull out the win

Winner: Matt Taven After the match Taven agrees to join the HOT. 

Lethal Addresses the Kevin Steen Situation

• He doesn't believe a thing that Steen said earlier. He must be playing mind games like he did with Davey Richards.
• Lethal isn't going for the games, he has only one focus ROH World Championship.
• The reason he believes he will win at 11th Anniversary,  it the Kevin Steen believes the Lethal can't.

Strong and redDRagon (Team Am Fishin') cut a promo before the match. Then we find out that The Briscoes will be doing Color for this match.

American Wolves and Michael Elgin vs Roderick Strong and redDRagon

• Jay Briscoe says that Strong has an ailing shoulder. He used to have the hardest chop in ROH but now Eddie Edwards does.
• The Briscoes are good on color. This is a good match. 
• "If Bobby Fish was a fish, what type of fish would he be?"
• Lots of Redskins fans in this Baltimore crowd.

Winner Strong and redDRagon Strong pins Elgin making it 3 - 0 I guess Strong is that good.

Is Lethal Ready for Kevin Steen?

Less than a week away and I can feel the excitement building. This should be a good main event. Steen will stop at nothing to remain the Champion and Lethal will have to do everything to win the title from Steen. Is he really ready for that?

Ring of Honor 11th Anniversary Preview

Thank you for taking the time to read my 11th Anniversary Preview. This is Ring of Honor's first iPPV  since Final Battle. There have been many developments since then. This should be a fantastic show. There are a lot of grudges on this card as you will see. There is somewhat of a cloud hanging over the show though, as Steve Corino has promised to turn Ring of Honor into Ring of S.C.U.M. Saturday Mar 2. 2013 8:30 pm.

 ROH World Championship

The main event will be Jay Lethal challenging Kevin Steen for the ROH World Championship  The story to this started back when Jim Cornette told Jay Lethal that he didn't have any "Killer Instinct". Lethal didn't take too kindly to that and it caused him to become more volatile  Jay Lethal won a chance to fight Steen for the ROH Championship, but in a match with Steen before he had a chance to cash his match in, something happened. Steen and Lethal's mom got into it ringside and Steen spits on Lethal's mom. Lethal snaps

After that happened, Steen made ROH agree that he never had to fight Lethal again. After months of frustration, Lethal got Steen to agree to a match. Steen, it appears, has changed. Since his Ladder War with El Generico, he hasn't been too tight with the rest of S.C.U.M. I might be reading into it too much, but I am interested to see how this develops. Will Lethal get his revenge and win the title? Or will Steen continue his reign of Evil?

ROH World Tag Team Championship

At this point the Briscoe Brothers are the face of the ROH tag Division. The 8 time champions will be defending their title against Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly. Team Am Fishin' are a new team without the experience a team like the Briscoes have. Don't let that fool you though. These are two rood fighters and their chemistry is developing well. In order to get this title shot Fish and O'Reilly won a tag team gauntlet under questionable circumstances.Many feel the Wolves should be in this match, but I will have more on them in a bit. Is Team Am Fishin' ready to win the tag titles? Not if Dem Boys from Sandy Fork have anything to say about it.

Dream Tag Match

The American Wolves  appeared to be in good shape in the tag gauntlet match I referenced earlier. But after they eliminated S.C.U.M., they were attacked and left as easy pickings for Fish and O'Reilly. Having missed out on the title shot, ROH set them up with a dream opponent. The Forever Hooligans.

"Romero's resume in Ring of Honor is strong with two World Tag Championship reigns under his belt (the first with Ricky Reyes, the second with Davey Richards), and his international credits are just as stacked. A former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion as Black Tiger, he also holds three IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship reigns under his belt; two of those actually with Richards, and the most recent one, which ended on November 11^th, was with Koslov at his side.

Koslov's ROH history is short but includes battles with some of the best including Roderick Strong, Bryan Danielson, and Romero himself. Ever since his return to independent wrestling, Koslov has been chomping at the bit to get back into ROH competition and now he will get that opportunity with Romero at his side."

2 out of 3 Falls Match- Truth Martini Barred from Ringside

The next match is really a grudge match. Michael Elgin and Roderick Strong were on the same team a little while ago. They were both members of the House of Truth. That is the reason Truth Martini is barred from ringside. He will not be involved in this match. These two couldn't get along on the same team, but they always have good matches when in the ring. This will be no different. It is 2 out of 3 falls, so it appears this will settle this feud once and for all.

ROH World Television Championship

Adam Cole will be defending his TV title and anything can happen as rumors swirl about him and WWE. He is set to defend against Matt Taven. This has a big match and opportunity for Taven who will be with Truth Martini. Can he take advantage? 

No Holds Barred

If two men ever had a grudge these two have it. This all began when BJ Whitmer started teaming with Rhett Titus. It really got personal for Whitmer though when Haas put him through a table head first at Final Battle.

  Then this happened.

Speaking of Haas, he has another feud now also.

This "No Holds Barred" match will be wild.  BJ Is tough and definitely will have motivation to the destructive Charlie Haas.

Grudge Match

That brings us to the grudge match between S.C.U.M. and Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander. Anytime C and C are on the card, you better pay attention. This is where I guess we will see S.C.U.M. try to fulfill their prediction. 

6 Man Mayhem Match

This will be QT Marshall vs ACH vs Tadarius Thomas vs Silas Young vs Mike Sydal vs Adam Page. Basically all of the prospects that didn't win the tournament will have a chance to earn a name live on iPPV. Early favorites have to be Thomas and QT Marshall. I really like ACh though so that who I will be pulling for.

This should be a good show. I like the card from top to bottom. So be sure to check this one out. With ROH you never know when the next match of the year candidate will happen. (Elgin vs Strong?) Not to even mention three great Tag team matches. No other promotion does a tag division like ROH.
